It’s the beginning of a new year and we are all looking forward to lots of new things in the Turtle Mountains and the Bottineau area. Wal-Mart has begun is hiring process and workers have started working inside the new store. The opening date is still the first part of March and we are looking forward to this new addition to our business community.
We have made some changes on the new website. I hope it becomes easier to navigate with the new additions. Shortly we will have a new picture of Lake Metigoshe on the website, taken by Clay Pettys. He is the guy flying the parachute with a propeller around the lake. He has taken several pictures which he is framing and selling. If interested, contact him at 701.263.4139.
In the Lake area we have had inquiries for new cabins and have listed one on Squaw Point and have been talking to several other prospective sellers over the past few weeks.
Bottineau sales have been strong, lots of out-of-state inquires and families relocating to our area. The new pig farm and Wal-mart have accounted for some. Income property has also been big as well as interest in hunting land in the hills.

Oil Oil Oil has been a factor in Bottineau County as well as the best prices for small grains and oil crops. Despite what the National Geographic says, North Dakota is a great place and the opportunities are only becoming greater all the time.
